Open
up the acupuncture points and clear up the channels and collaterals.
For the beginners of Qigong,
the most important and the key is to open up the main acupuncture
points for the communication of the upper with the lower and the
interior with the exterior of the body, clear up the obstruction
or stasis of channels and collaterals, and promote circulative and
harmonious functional activities of qi. To quickly clear away the
morbid qi, turbid qi, Yin qi and evil qi, the points must be open
wide completely, and their permeability should be better than that
of the normal people and be maintained, that is, we should prevent
them from closing through practicing Qigong ourselves for a long
time. This is the important base to prevent and treat diseases,
keep health, prolong life, at the same time, the basis of health
-preserving Qigong science.
(1) Open up the acupuncture
points
There are about 360 acupuncture
points in the whole body, each of them performs its own functions
and should be opened up gradually one by one through Qingong practice
for preserving health. About 36 big ones are main doors that must
be open, for which concerns directly with functioning of Qi that
weeds through the old to bring for the new for treating illness
and restoring health in the earlier stage of Qigong practice. All
points are surface-door communication of the interior with the exterior
of the body; they can not only exhaust the turbid qi, morbid qi
and evil qi but also draw the vital qi of the outside environment
and the microcosmic vital qi that exert fully nourishing effects.
All points are of three kinds, the first one is these take in charge
of drawing (inhaling) the vital qi, Yang qi and clear qi beneficial
to the body, e.g. Baihui point, Janjing point, etc; the second one,
these take charge of exhausting (exhaling) the turbid qi and morbid
qi produced during the metabolic process in body, e.g. Yongquan
point, tiptoe, etc. The third one, those with double functions that
draw as well as exhaust, e.g. many of the points on the Ren-channel
and Du-channel. So to open up the points is thought as the key and
the basic for preserving the health by Qigong practice, which was
called "practice doors" in ancient China. The open doors
can breathe out the old and breathe in the new smoothly.
During the first period, the
points above the waist that need practicing and opening are Laogong,
Baihui and Shixuan points of both hands,etc; which mainly perform
the function of inhaling the new while subsidiarily exhaling the
old, the new they inhale is the Yang and clear qi of heaven, the
genuine and vital qi that benefits health and treats disease, and
the old they exhale is the turbid qi, morbid qi, Yin qi and evil
qi; the points below the waists need practicing and opening are
Yongquan and the ten tip-toe points of both feet, which mainly perform
the function of exhaling the old while subsidiarily inhaling the
new, the old that they exhale is the turbid qi, morbid qi, Yin qi
and evil qi, and the new they inhale is the genuine qi and clear
qi from the ground.
Only after the doors that inhale
and exhale is opened at the same time can the physiological circulating
system to connect the interior with the exterior of the body in
Qigong practice be formed. Take in the fresh to nourish the body,
and get rid of the stale to prevent and treat diseases and keep
healthy.
It is a scientific and rational
way to open up the doors (about 36 big points) and the windows (others
points) of the body's house. A room with good ventilation (get rid
of the stale and take in the fresh) is suited to live healthily
and comfortably. So it is the first step, the key and the basis
to gradually practice and open all the points and make unremitting
efforts when practicing Qinggong.
(2) Clear up the channels and
callaterals.
The channels and the collaterals
are the transmissible system of body's vital movement of Qi. The
channel and collateral system consists of twelve regular channels,
eight extra channels and other branch cal laterals. Just as an urban
traffic is composed of the main line, branch road and street. Whether
the traffic is unobstructed or not is depended on the width of the
road and the scientific traffic control. If the road is clear, the
city will be full of vitality and prosperity.
t is the same as the traffic,
the channel and the callateral system is distinct in the thickness,
the size of diameter, and the saturation. The system is basically
clear if in good health. But the degree of saturation and the volume
of flow are not enough, there are some blocks in it or somewhere
is narrow, which will influence the functioning of Qi. All of which
are causes of disease due to Qi stagnancy and blood stasis.
A correct way doing Qigong exercises
for the beginners is to clear up all the channels and callaterals
in the whole body, dilate the channels and the callaterals, increase
the penetrating and transmissible function, and clear up the stasis
and block to ensure the system is clear of obstructions. The vital
qi and clear qi may circulate smoothly and easy through the clear
system. The turbid qi and morbid qi may be discharged from the body
in time. At the same time, the surface points (doors and windows)
can be opened and closed freely in order to supplement the body
with the outside clear and vital qi, breath out the turbid and morbid
qi of the body in time. They are the prerequisite for the health,
so the beginners should grasp the two keys to the practice.
In Taishang School, Tianyuan
practicing mind Qingong exercises, we will pay main attention to
the biggest Taiji structural channel that is Ren-Du Taiji channel
of human body. Ren channel formed the Yin (black)fish line, Du channel
formed the Yang(white)fish line, and the mid channel formed the
Taiji chord(S-shaped line , or sin line).The eye of Yang fish represents
the upper Dantian, the eye of Yin fish represents the lower Dantian.
If you can open up the Ren and Du Taiji channels and make them unobstructed,
you would keep hold of the key to practice reversely of nature (or
mind) and life. You would easy sublimate and change practicing of
Xuanji way overall, and go up to Wuji Da Dao.
(3) Supplement energy.
Qi is the source power for life
activities of the human body, as the blood, it is the source energy
which maintains the life activities. We cannot see it for the time
being, but it has mass and no form and is an objective reality substance.
All the things have Qi, only the quality and quantity of it is different.
There are many kind of living Qi in the body. The different quality
and quantity of Qi will lead to different health and life. The internal
Qi of body will be consumed and lost in maintaining life activities
or as other use. Generally speaking, it is not sufficient and needs
continuously cultivating and reinforcing.
After opening the doors, windows
and the roads of the body, the body itself needs to absorb and collect
a great deal of energy from the outside to supplement its internal
Qi. There are many ways to cultivate and reinforce the internal
Qi. The Taiji ball and the Xuanji ball can carry and transmit the
divine energy. Taiji and Xuanji figures are not a simple symbol
figure. They are the most valuable treasure handed down from generation
to generation. They are the carrier of the divine energy. But the
way to get the real and substantial divine energy must be pointed,
taught and given by the master. When you get the carrier in your
mind, under the effort of your mind force, the Taiji or xuanji ball
can move about all creations and transmit divine energy in multi-dimensional
space, and your body will get much more high quality living light
Qi and divine energy. The two carriers have intense safe guard capability
and can play a positive role in interior environmental protection
of body.
You should naturally get the
divine energy with respectful heart, equal heart, love heart, kind
heart, and universal heart, and not secure by force or trickery
or steal. Even a grass or a wood is also one of the all-living creatures;
we should equally treat it and be fair in exchanging energy. So
apply the Taiji or Xuanji to practise, you must always remember
to take a good will and kind heart, so that you would not have trouble
in the future of Qigong exercises.
